I would like to test VersionBackup Master before purchasing it. Is this possible?

You can test VersionBackup Master for the period of 30 days without any cost.

The VersionBackup Master software, which can be downloaded from our Download Page, has the complete functionality. It will work on your system for 30 days even if you will not enter a Register Number yet. Even after this testing period, it will remain possible recovering existing backups without registration.
If you want to create new backups with VersionBackup Master without any time limitation, please enter the Register Data, when you received them after purchasing the license.

I do not have my Register Data yet. How can I get them again?

Please ask us using the Support Form. It is no problem for us to send you your Register Data again.

If I purchase a VersionBackup Master license now, will it be valid even for future software issues?

A license which is bought today is valid for every Release with a number beginning with 5.

To remove weak points, which newly are reported to us, Patch Releases may be issued (Release 5.1.2.0 e.g.). From time to time, you should use the function "Check for Software Updates" on the page "Overview" to check whether you can update your software.
If you have a VersionBackup 5 license, this will be free of course as long as there are new software issues beginning with the figure 5.

If you have a VersionBackup 5 license and later want to change to VersionBackup 6, we will grant you a discount price for the Upgrade License.

I bought my VersionBackup license some time ago. Is it valid even for the up-to-date software?

For the up-to-date software, you need a VersionBackup 5 license.

Exception: If you bought a VersionBackup 4 license later than August 2008, then it is valid even for Release 5.

If you bought a license for VersionBackup Master 4 (in July 2006 or later), then you can buy Upgrade Licenses at a reduced price. You can purchase it on the page Update Order Form.

Can I transfer my license to a different computer?

Each purchased license may be used to save the data of one computer.
Of course, it must be possible changing thise computer. To do this, please download the software from our Download Page to the new computer and install it there.

After this, you must perform the Product Activation again.
Usually, this will work at the first go. But if you already reached the limit for the number of allowed Activation runs, please contact our support (using the Support Form, e.g.).

Of course, you must take care that VersionBackup will no more be used for the computer, where it has been installed first.

What is the advantage if I order a software CD?

If you can transfer the software from the Internet to the computer, where VersionBackup Master shall be installed, there is no real advantage buying a CD.

To repeat the installation, you can download the software again from our Download Page. Furthermore, the software on your CD may be obsolete soon. In the Internet, you find the up-to-date software at any time.

I am a trader and want to sell VersionBackup licenses to my customers. What is the procedure for this? Can I get a trader discount?

Of course, we are especially pleased if you resell VersionBackup Master or VersionBackup Server.

The new Product Activation has become necessary because you updated your software to the issue.
Your Register Number has been issued in 2006 or an earlier year. It is no more valid for the up-to-date software.

If you bought your license for VersionBackup Master 4 (in July 2006 or later), then it is still valid for Release 4.1. With this license, you may use software issue 4.1.8.8. Please contact SB-AW (using the Support Form, e.g.) and we will send you a free supplement Register Number in the new format. But even this cannot be used for the up-to-date software.

If you bought your VersionBackup Master License in June 2006 or earlier, then it is valid only until the software issue 4.0.3.0.

You can reload older software issues after downloading the right installation file from the page Older Software Issues.
Of course, we recommend upgrading to the newest software issue. For this, you need a new license. You can purchase it on the page Order Form.
